Bitcoin ETFs draw $527 million, their biggest day in almost a month

BlackRock's IBIT took in $665 million on Monday while ether funds kept losing money.

    HedgeWeekly News Desk ·

US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds pulled in a net $526.7 million on Monday, according to Farside Investors data, the largest single-day intake since September 22, when the group gathered $714.7 million. The turnaround followed a net outflow of $82.4 million on Friday.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust did all of the heavy lifting, adding $665.2 million, while withdrawals from other funds trimmed the total. Even after Monday's haul, the products remain in the red for October, with net outflows of roughly $90 million month to date.

Ether funds moved the other way. US spot ether ETFs shed a net $103.3 million on Monday, led by $95.4 million out of BlackRock's ETHA, extending a run in which the funds have posted outflows on 14 of the past 15 trading days, totaling $1.12 billion.

Bitcoin itself has barely moved. It traded near $82,060 early Tuesday, down about 0.4% over 24 hours and close to the roughly $81,500 average cost basis of ETF holders estimated by Glassnode.
